Thanks for writing for me! I’m at firstlovelatespring on ao3, and my past letters can be found here on dreamwidth as well (although I don’t think I’ve ever written a letter requesting any of these canons before.) My general likes include 5 times, getting together, secret relationship, forced proximity, bed sharing, minor magical abilities, and casefic, but I am pretty easy to please. Below are some more specific thoughts on and prompts for my requested fandoms, but feel free to take or leave what you like.

Tano/Richi

I watched this movie 2 months ago for a class and still have all sorts of feelings about it. The director has said it’s loosely based on Peter Pan, which I think is such an interesting lens to see Tano through. I loved that it’s a coming-of-age movie where the protagonist refuses to come of age. Tano and Richi are morally ambiguous in a way I didn’t expect to enjoy, but really did, so please feel free to lean into that. I don’t know if I think either of them have the self-awareness or emotional maturity to say anything about it, but they had such insane chemistry in the movie. A lot of charged eye contact.

In general, I’d prefer fic set during or after the movie. I don't mind if you include Richi's death, or if you choose to canon-divergence it away.

• The scene in the building under construction was one of my favorites in the movie. Richi talks about getting a job, about the future, but Tano is stuck in Neverland. I also liked it because of the crazy amount of homoerotic eye contact. I would very much love anything set during/after this scene, where their conversation goes differently.
• Post-movie, I’d be happy with canon divergence where Richi doesn’t die, or alternatively Tano processing his feelings about Richi after his death. Where does Tano end up, when he can’t run anymore? If Richi doesn’t die, does Tano go back to where he was after this weekend?
• If Tano were to do the 7 virgins thing, what would he see? Now that I think about it, maybe the fact that Richi does it but not Tano and Tano therefore doesn’t think about the future is part of his unwillingness to grow up, but still—what if?
• Another of my favorite scenes of the movie was Tano’s brother’s wedding. I love the song Felicidad by La Cabra Mecánica, and that whole sequence was bathed in its glorious light… The wedding also brings up the theme of settling down, which Tano is clearly uncomfortable with. It would be interesting to read any Tano/Richi interlude to the wedding, where they step away and talk or don’t talk or anything at all.

Man Like Mobeen

This show was so funny, and I absolutely fell in love with the characters. Mobeen is a great protagonist, and I especially love his relationship with Nate, Eight, and Aqsa. If possible let’s just… ignore the end of season 3. For the most part I liked the added drama of the third season, but that ending! I really hope the show gets renewed, and until the hypothetical next season I for one am happy pretending that no one gets hurt.

Mobeen Deen/Officer Harper

Love their antagonism, particularly in season 3. I think they would be so bad for each other, but despite that (because of it?) they have great chemistry. I’ve written some fic about the episode where they’re handcuffed together, but I would absolutely not mind receiving more. When they’re walking through the woods and talking about themselves, talking about nothing, it feels sort of outside reality. Just all of it is tailor-made for fanfiction, really.

Mobeen Deen/Nate

• I loved in the hospital episode when Nate was jealous of everyone close to Mobeen. I could definitely vibe with that being his Feelings Awakening - because I do think there needs to be some sort of catalyst that changes their years of friendship to something else, or at least shows it in a different light. But, yeah. I love the idea of Nate being jealous before they’re dating, but am kind of squicked by big jealousy or possessiveness in an established relationship.
• I know Naveed wasn’t asking in good faith when he asked how long Mobeen and Nate had been together, but I did of course hear that line through ship goggles. I could also see this line as a starting point for something.
• I love that Mobeen and Nate canonically bake for each other, and would love to see that in action! With or without the company of Eight and Aqsa.

The Inbetweeners

Simon Cooper/Will McKenzie

I didn’t expect to like this show, or to have any shippy feelings about its characters, but here I am… I like that Simon and Will have some moments of real friendship among the comparatively more chaotic antics of their friend group, and that Simon actually seems to like Will more than Jay or Neil. I think when it’s just the two of them, they’re both more toned down and less annoying. My least favorite part of this show is the secondhand embarrassment and gross humor - if possible I would not like to read a lot of that in fic.

• I’d love any sort of forced proximity for this ship. Maybe the two of them on a long drive together, or together keeping watch for some ill-advised plan, or physically stuck somewhere (in school overnight?). If it’s a more voluntary form of forced proximity like being in the car, I could see both of them (especially Simon) pretending to be annoyed at having to do this but actually enjoying the time together.
• Will starts hanging out with another friend group at school (is this unrealistic already? lol) and at first Simon, Jay, and Neil are happy to be rid of him. But then they realize, especially Simon, that they actually miss Will and, you know, like him. Simon has to swallow his pride and ask for Will to come back.
• The summer after high school. I love the idea of Simon and Will (and maybe also Jay and Neil) having a list of things they want to do before they go their separate ways. It would be cool to see this in a sort of 5 times format, or just generally some items on the list going as you would expect and some not!

The View from Saturday

Ethan Potter/Julian Singh

I loved this book growing up, and when I re-read it more recently. I never really considered shipping any of the characters until I read an absolutely beautiful future fic about Ethan and Julian last Yuletide, but I have been converted. I’m most interested in future fic for the two of them, in high school or college or beyond. I love that it’s through Ethan’s eyes that we see Julian call the Souls to the Sillington House, and I think their friendship so important to the group.

I’d be happy to see the other Souls and Ms Olinski appear, and I don’t mind background pairings (i.e., Noah/Nadia or even Mr Singh/Ms Olinski), or Hamilton Knapp if you need a convenient villain.

• I can imagine the Souls drifting apart as they grow up, and I would love to read Ethan and Julian getting together as a result of or catalyst for the group reuniting.
• Noah and Nadia move on (to college, or even just other social circles in high school) and Ethan and Julian don’t. Would be super interesting to see how the dynamic of their relationship changes when it goes from four to two.
• The summer after high school, the Souls (or just Ethan and Julian) decide they are going to do a Project. Maybe some sort of renovation of the Sillington House, or planting a vegetable garden, anything.
• Five times Ethan was invited to tea, and one he wasn’t. (Or any other flavor of five times or through-the-years fic.)
• Love that Julian has chops, and would love for him to teach more magic to Ethan and the others. Would also not be adverse to some real magic mixed in with the sleight of hand.
• This is a tall order, but it would be very cool to read a summer (in/after high school) where the four of them think they are all going their separate ways (and are sad about it) but inadvertently cross paths and have connected experiences like in the book.
